Sumatran orangutans are critically endangered.

Habitat loss and poaching are pushing them towards imminent extinction. Every minute, every day an area equal to six football fields of Indonesian forest disappears!

Must-see new film: The Burning Season

Every year, there is a burning season in Indonesia. Areas of rainforest the size of Denmark are cut down and set alight by farmers and corporations to develop palm oil plantations. As well as destroying the habitat of critically-endangered orangutans, new scientific evidence shows that deforestation comprises 20% of global carbon emissions, contributing significantly to climate change. "The Burning Season" follows Dorjee Sun as he develops a carbon-trading scheme in an attempt to save the Indonesian rainforests and their wildlife. But is carbon trading really the answer?
