- Web Links: If you, your friends, your company or organization have a website, help us by adding a prominent link to the SOS site.
- Write letters:
There are many people whom it is useful to write to expressing your concerns about deforestation in Indonesia and its implications for local people and wildlife, including the charismatic orangutan.
For example you could write a polite letter to:
- Your MP or MEP (UK only). You can contact them quickly and easily from www.writetothem.com.
- His Excellency Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Istana Negara, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta, Indonesia
- The Prime Minister of the UK: The Right Honourable Gordon Brown MP, 10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA, UK
- The President of the USA: President Barack Obama, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500, USA
- The President of the World Bank: Mr. Robert B. Zoellick, President, World Bank, 1818 H Street NW, Washington DC 20433, USA
- Companies - encourage them to be environmentally sensitive.
It is important when writing letters to influential people to be diplomatic and to avoid an abrasive or angry tone - this is actually counterproductive.
