Forever Forest

Forever Forest

We recently asked our supporters to help us come up with a name for our newest restoration site. Previously an oil palm plantation, this 890-acre piece of land was purchased through an amazing community fundraising effort, so it seemed only right that the people who helped us buy the land should have the opportunity to help us name it too.

We had lots of beautiful suggestions sent to us and we ended up with a shortlist of three names, which hundreds of people voted on. The winning name was Selamanya Hutan, which translates as Forever Forest.

Some volunteers from Lush have been helping at the site and made this video to reveal the new name and the beautiful hand-made sign they helped to create.

From the land purchase to the choice of name and the ongoing support for the restoration of the site, Selamanya Hutan has truly been a team effort. We couldn’t have done it without you.
