SOS and our frontline partners are supporting local people to actively safeguard their forests against illegal logging and encroachment through community forest patrols.
Recently, TaHuKah joined forces with government rangers and local residents for a ten-day expedition through the forests of Pakpak Bharat. While on patrol, they documented everything from majestic primates in the high canopy to the intricate life forms hidden on the forest floor.
When local people lead the way, conservation is no longer something imposed upon them by external NGOs and agencies. It becomes a lasting legacy rooted in pride, identity and long-term prosperity.
Your support makes this possible. With your help, we can provide the training and equipment necessary to expand these patrols—keeping the guardianship of these forests exactly where it belongs: with the community.
