The Governor of North Sumatra shakes hands with Suhendra — a senior member of TaHuKah
We are thrilled to announce that our conservation partners, TaHuKah, were recognised for their outstanding achievements in sustainable development at the Social Forestry Workshop & Farmer Group Business Gathering.
This event, attended by the Minister of Forestry and the Governor of North Sumatra, reaffirmed that community-based forest management goes beyond policy — it’s a shared movement. Social forestry is an innovative approach to forest management that supports local communities to manage and conserve forest resources. This approach is gaining recognition as a powerful tool for long-term conservation programmes, and is key to our work with TaHuKah in North Sumatra.
The award reads: The Government of North Sumatra Province hereby expresses its appreciation to Tangguh Hutan Khatulistiwa (TaHuKah) for their dedication and contribution as a development partner of North Sumatra Province in realising ‘Sustainable Development that Benefits Society and the Environment.’
This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire TaHuKah team. We are proud to partner with an organisation that embodies such a strong commitment to both local communities and nature. Congratulations!
